Being a Mass Comm Student

Hello, people! So this my first time I am Writing my blog. I am going to tell you about my course studies.

but before that, recently I am officially graduated as a Diploma Mass Comm student. yeayy!

Diploma pre-grad picture!

What is mass communication? What all branches does it have? How is it different and interesting from other fields?

Many people said that this course is easy to excel, easy to take, easy to graduate with flying colors and etc.. "Mass Comm is a fun course!" "take it".

Actually, the truth is...
Late night editing,  hours of lectures and endless study tasks and assignments – not the workload typically associated with a media studies degree. But this is the reality of today's media student.
I think everyone who pursues in degree would be the same as me. We are all have battled to finishing up our assignments until the end week of the the semester.
"the HECTIC week!"(the student calls it)
As a communication media student, I think few people actually know what media studies means, or what it's like to study it at uni. Actually its not that bad. What got me attracted to Mass Comm was the idea you need to speak up and voice your opinions. Well, as long as your opinions do not belittle or insult other people. Because I like to talk, I like to engage with people. So guys if you are like me, (those who want to pursue their studies) Mass Comm is made for you!
Anyway, Mass Communication at the UiTM can be broadly classified into the following:
MC246-Bach. of Communication (Hons) Instructional Communication & Training)
MC247-Bach. of Communication (Hons) Interpersonal Communication
MC248-Bach. of Communication (Hons) Communication Management & Policy
MC249 - Bach. of New Media Communication
MC245-Bach. of Mass Comm. (Hons) Publishing
MC244-Bach. of Mass Comm. (Hons) Advertising
MC243-Bach. of Mass Comm. (Hons) Broadcasting
MC242-Bach. of Mass Comm. (Hons) Public Relations
MC241-Bach. of Mass Comm. (Hons) Journalism

The program that I'm in is the Interpersonal Communication which is mostly the study of human communication, which is very fun for me. I am now in my 2nd years of my degree which is I am currently in semester 3. Throughout the last semester, it had been a challenging yet an adventurous experience. Last semester (semester 2) we have been given a mandate to organize our very own event that can be relate to health because it is under a subject (Health Communication).

The best part is we are our own audience, because we did a camping event. We had lots of fun plus although it was one of our assignment, but we did not felt it was like an assignment. We managed to do the event while we were enjoying it so much. Almost felt like a short trip, free from other assignments. This is the best part of being a mass comm student. We bring our learning process outside the class!

What so difference about Mass Comm is we will always have events. Mass Comm teaches student how to deal with people to organize event. So we have felt the 'real world' in dealing with all the collaborator, sponsors..etc.What I can guarantee is, Mass Comm offers me,us, variety of programs ahead our semester which is significant for us as a communication media student.

Like I have mentioned, when you're in uni life, you have to be outspoken because mainly when in the class we will do lots of presentation. like EVERYDAY. So you're going have to talk, talk, talk, and talk, discuss and talk. Therefore once you a student of Mass Comm, put away your shyness,be BOLD! Because when you shy you would loss all the fun and activities.

Lastly I have to admit, I was a chicken before.when I entered here, there are so much changing me and I like my changes. So do not worry, the environment here would change you to be better!

Okay... it has been a long write, perhaps I'll see you soon for my next post!
